Fanart: The Silent Ones

A fanart for exist†trace, a cool Japanese rock band!

This art I drew long ago, but today I had a weird dream in which I watched their video where not only Omi and Naoto were not talkative, but also Mally, the bubbly one who is usually so loud! And I thought in the dream, “oh god I have to redraw what I wanted to post today and add Mally is Silent!” =D

My 2015

Last year was full of changes and sometimes things were quite overwhelming and intense but overall 2015 was awesome!

There was a lot of progress in art – fanart, animals, portraits. I'm now braver to try drawing challenging new things! It has always been my dream to become a professional artist, be it drawing or writing. And I feel I finally worked hard for that last year! I want to keep treating drawing as something serious and not just a fun hobby.

exist†trace trivia quiz!

Last February exist†trace's fan club Archangel Diamond organized a trivia contest for the fans of the coolest rock band ever, and I won something. :-) I'll show you my prize in a moment, first: the trivia quiz.

The questions were:

[Q2: miko] Which exist†trace music video ends with the band playing in a field of grass?

[Q5: Mally] In Mally's 2014 Twitter Halloween drawing, which member completed her Jack-o-Lantern perfectly (without witchcraft)?

Questions from Jyou, miko and Omi were easy for me (fangirl power!). But Naoto's piercings? I don't think there ever was any exact information about it, at least not in English. I tried my luck and guessed incorrectly... :'-(

Mally's question was a different kind of tricky. Luckily, I had saved her drawings in a special folder, so I just had to check it quickly. ^^

Fanart: Princess miko

It's fanart time again! Allow me to introduce...

Guitarist and vocalist of exist†trace, miko loves bunnies and Cheburashka. I chose a bunny this time. ^^ By the way, this is a magical bunny – she can fly and sing cutely! (The bunny doesn't play guitar though. Maybe it is time for some royal lessons?)

Fanart: Mally's Puppies - わんわんの世界

Since it's not a secret that Mally really, REALLY likes dogs, I decided to draw her as a puppy for her birthday. And since it's not a secret that I really, REALLY like Mally, I ended up drawing six of them. :D Each puppy represents one of many styles of Mally. But, I'm sure there is some hair colour I missed. :D

Igu Day Fanart

Today is 19^th which means it's exist†trace's day! Their name is pronounced as igujisuto toreisu in Japanese, and “igu” sounds like 19. ;-)

今日はイグの日です！

I wanted to portray how the band looks like in their video comments. Usually two of them are normal, two are sleeping and one is hyper. (*^▽^*)

I imagined Mally, drummer of exist†trace, as a warrior in samurai-inspired armour, and here is the result.

Sometimes it's hard to introduce someone to a new band, when their sound is so diverse that you don't know which song is The Song, the one that reflect the essence of the band the most. Some of my favourite bands are like that, switching from aggressive metal to soft ballads to pop-rock to something darker like it's no big deal. And the vocalists who can handle different styles of singing are the best!

I can't feature everyone here, sorry my dear Janne Da Arc, Dead Can Dance, Lacrimosa and many others. Only five bands tonight.

Yesterday I found toys on my desk. Guys, what are you looking at? Are you admiring my Enceladus wallpaper or...?

Spiral Daisakusen! Hey, did you all just buy me exist†trace's newest single? Aww, guys! Or was it my husband?..

Although I'm not a fan of the titular song Spiral Daisakusen (too pop), I enjoy Antique Doll and Yume Ni Kiss Wo. Antique Doll has Mally's drum solo ♡ and Yume Ni Kiss Wo shows off Jyou's voice perfectly. And, it's nice to support such a wonderful band. The single costs only € 2.97 on Google Play.

exist†trace's old songs are much heavier. \m/ I hope they'll release something like that too.

  I'm trying to learn how to draw portraits well. And as I'm really obsessed about all things beautiful, I especially want to draw pretty people. I'm also a fan of exist†trace, which is a band of five awesome women. I couldn't choose between cheekbones of Omi or lips of Mally, soooo gorgeous... so I drew both! :D

  Didn't plan to make a post today, but I discovered a new band and couldn't resist sharing it. :) I'm used to seeing androgynous guys in quite many Japanese rock bands, but today I found an all-female band that looks just perfect to me. And they sound cool too! ^^

  Не планировала поста сегодня, но нашла новую для себя группу и не могла не поделиться. :) Я уже привыкла к андрогинным мужчинам, встречающимся во многих японских рок-группах, а сегодня нашла команду, полностью состоящую из одних девушек. Выглядят они для меня идеально. Да и музыка тоже классная! ^^
