Hamsteripäiväkirjat 4
by Nekota Medetai

Hamsters! God I love this manga about the cutest (and silliest) balls of fur who eat too much and frolic adorably.

Vegan Bodybuilding & Fitness: The Complete Guide to Building Your Body on a Plant-Based Diet

The Other Me
by Suzanne van Rooyen

This is a novel by a South African author who lives in Finland, and it's about a young transgender person. => There was no way I could resist The Other Me. ^^ My interest in South Africa is all Rurousha's fault! Go say hi to her here.* And gender stuff is always incredibly fascinating to me. Plus, the story is pretty short, just 216 pages.

“Suzanne is a tattooed storyteller from South Africa. She currently lives in Finland and finds the cold, dark forests nothing if not inspiring. Although she has a Master’s degree in music, Suzanne prefers conjuring strange worlds and creating quirky characters. When not writing, she teaches dance and music to middle schoolers and entertains her shiba inu, Lego.”

Wonderbook: The Illustrated Guide to Creating Imaginative Fiction
by Jeff VanderMeer (Author), Jeremy Zerfoss (Illustrator), John Coulthart (Illustrations)

“This all-new definitive guide to writing imaginative fiction takes a completely novel approach and fully exploits the visual nature of fantasy through original drawings, maps, renderings, and exercises to create a spectacularly beautiful and inspiring object. Employing an accessible, example-rich approach, Wonderbook energizes and motivates while also providing practical, nuts-and-bolts information needed to improve as a writer.”
- from Goodreads**

Contributors include:
George R. R. Martin, Lev Grossman, Neil Gaiman, Catherynne M. Valente, Karen Joy Fowler, Ursula K. Le Guin, John Crowley, Rikki Ducornet, Charles Yu, Karen Lord, Lauren Beukes, Kim Stanley Robinson, David Anthony Durham, Joe Abercrombie, Peter Straub and Nnedi Okorafor.

Oh, look! One more South African author!

The writer in me is VERY excited about this book. ^.^

Penny likes it too.

Wonderbook has a wonderful site and a cool trailer featuring The Story Fish!

*It's a great blog. You're welcome.

  3. No I protest! Everything is NOT MY FAULT! I'm not a vegan because life without chocolate is a horror not to be contemplated, and I think hedgehogs are cuter than hamsters. (Hallo, John!) Everything else? Well, OK, maybe. ;)
    PS: Beerboep!

    1. I am keeping all the precious comments! :D

You no like dark milk-free chocolate? ;-) There is a lot of vegan chocolate and I saw tons of vegan sweets recipes. I made vegan pancakes the other day, for example. Delicioussss.

I would happily read a hedgehog manga. I have four plush hedgehogs (random stuff for the trivia junkie). None of them looks like John though. And no otters...
