Aino Kallas: The Wolf's Bride

A woman turns into a werewolf and tastes freedom – from men, social norms and obligations. That's what The Wolf's Bride (Sudenmorsian) by Aino Kallas is about. It was first published in Finnish in 1928. I chose to read the story in English, because it was written in “archaic Finnish” which I figured would be too hard for me, probably. :D

Books & Tea. It Never Ends

Really, I should never go to libraries alone. I was supposed to return The Summer Prince and get two books I ordered earlier (if you live in Espoo, Helsinki, Vantaa or Kauniainen, you can order books from any of their libraries and have them delivered to your local library for free). But somehow... my legs just took me upstairs... and my eyes saw more books... and then the books just jumped into my hands, you know? They were naughtily heavy!

My husband is learning Russian. He is reading Max Frei now, humoristic Russian fantasy-mystery. It's a bit challenging for a beginner, so I got him English translation for reference.

Max Frei wrote a lot, this isn't even everything. ^^

The Piglets of Cute.

Let's visit Tallinn again!

There were many cuties in the Tallinn zoo, but these piglets definitely won the throne of cute.

So friendly ^.^

Back to the quirky hotel!

Our room cost 60 euros. They also have more expensive suites with bathtubs and even sauna.

It took just a second to fall asleep there. :D

St. Olav Hotel, Tallinn

In Tallinn we stayed in a quirky old hotel. Located right in the historical center of Tallinn, St. Olav Hotel offers you an interesting experience, and I'll try to replicate the feeling for you.

The hotel's building was founded in 1437 and changed a few times over the centuries. You can feel its age everywhere.
