First we got some refreshments in Espresso House in Sello: an iced rooibos-orange drink with mint for me and a white chocolate frapino for my husband.

Today I worked on my book in a café for the first time! Despite the fact that I'd slept for only 2,5 hours, I managed to brainstorm a scene and came to a very important conclusion: it needs crossdressing. =D Everything is better with crossdressing!

Today there was a Christmas market in Villa Elfvik, one of my favourite places in Espoo. They were selling local organic food and many cuuuute decorations. It was so crowded! And we ate cakes. :D

I went to a library. Again! :D Got comics in Finnish: one about a transgender person, two about cute hamsters. *。ヽ(*´▽`*)ノ*。゜ Reading comics in Finnish is definitely easier than reading dusty classics.

Villa Elfvik （＾ω＾）

  Villa Elfvik is a wonderful place with a cute name, and I like to bring people there. Yesterday we went there with my parents-in-law. It felt strange that I didn't have to translate anything from Finnish, because I became used to doing it when taking Russians there. :)

In January my husband asked if I was gonna be available on March 26^th. He wouldn't tell me what for. I kept that day free for him. So, it finally came and we went to Helsinki. We ate at San Pedro's, visited a bookstore (I didn't buy anything, gasp) and then he took me to the Savoy theater. o_O

The thing is, we don't go to theaters. So I was very puzzled. We entered, and I saw some kanji. 鼓童? Huh? :D He kept teasing me with silence, but eventually I got it. We're going to see Kodō, the taiko group!

Squirrelness. Белконаглость

  Squirrels... Those weird adorable fluffy things. Today I was reading outside, and a squirrel suddenly showed up near our house. Very carefully she inspected the bushes that grow near our windows and then jumped away from me. Dear squirrel, when I'm reading a good book, I prefer not to be distracted. Please next time bring your cuteness when I'm more available. Thanks.

  Белки... Эти странные, милые, пушистые создания. Сегодня я читала на улице, когда неожиданно появилась белка и стала исследовать кусты, растущие у нас под окном. Закончив с ними, белка пропрыгала себе дальше, прочь. Дорогая белка, когда я читаю интересную книжку, я предпочитаю, чтобы меня не отвлекали. Пожалуйста, в следующий раз озари меня своей умильностью в более подходящее время. Спасибо.

As you probably know, I go to sleep really late. Last night... I mean, this morning, I was munching a carrot before sleep. I can't sleep when I'm hungry, so I had to eat something light. The carrot was nice, organically grown and all. “Katya, you are such a bunny!” I thought. Then I went to my window to have a look at the waking world. Two hares were grazing there.

Как вы уже наверно знаете, ложусь я поздно. Прошлой ночью... вернее, этим утром грызла я морковку перед сном. Не могу спать на пустой желудок, так что надо было перекусить. Хорошая была морковка, органик и всё такое. «Катя, ты совсем кролик!» - подумала я. Потом подошла к окну полюбоваться просыпающимся миром. Два зайца паслись напротив.

  When little Nuuks heard it was snowing, he at once rushed outside. Nuuks is a plush shrew that was bought for me in Nuuksio, hence the name. Don't I have great imagination? :D

  Когда маленький Нуукс услышал, что на улице идёт снег, он тут же понёсся гулять. Нуукс — это плюшевая землеройка, которую мне купили в Нууксио, отсюда и имя. Правда, у меня классное воображение? :D

  It snows almost every day here, on the south of Finland, and snow piles along the roads are giant. But what I want to talk about isn't weather. It's languages. Again. :)

  За окном снег кружит чуть ли не каждый день тут, на юге Финляндии. Сугробы у дорог выросли гигантские. Но поговорить я сегодня хотела не о погоде, а о языках. Опять. :)

  Here is a little paper that shows standard levels of language proficiency. A1.1 is a beginner, and C2.2 is native level, super-duper fluency. I look at it, and it's like a guiding light for me – here is how I progress in Finnish, little by little. I can understand Finnish on the level of B2 I think, but my speaking is not so good. So I decided to make Finnish my priority for some time.

  На этой маленькой бумажке показаны стандартные уровни владения языком. А1.1 это начинающий, а С2.2. - уровень человека, для кого это родной язык, т. е. супер-пупер свободное владение. Я смотрю на бумажку, и она будто путеводная звезда — вот как я улучшаю свой финский, шаг за шагом. Понимаю я финский, пожалуй, на уровне В2.2., а вот говорю гораздо хуже. Так что сейчас финский у меня в приоритете на некоторое время.

Magical day. Волшебный день

  Last week I turned 27. My husband made sure that my birthday would be amazing, and so it was indeed. :) What do I need for happiness? Him, books, food, animals and Gollum. I got all of it and more. :D

  На прошлой неделе мне исполнилось 27. Муж приложил все усилия, чтобы день вышел незабываемым, и так оно и было. :) Ингредиенты счастья для меня? Мой милый, книжки, нямки, живность и Голлум. Я получила всё это и даже больше. :D

  Since I was impatient and opened my gifts already at midnight, I started my birthday by reading one of them, “Catching Fire”. I finished it in two days and then quickly read “Mockingjay” (both from The Hunger Games trilogy). I just couldn't stop reading them, so good. That's why I wasn't blogging.

  Т.к. мне не терпелось, я открыла подарки уже в полночь. Я начала читать один из них, “Catching Fire”, и закончила за два дня, затем проглотила “Mockingjay” (обе из трилогии «Голодные игры»). Просто не оторваться, такие классные книги. Потому я и не писала в блогах.

  When I woke up, my husband took me to the Korkeasaari zoo. It was snowing all day long, and I really like it when it snows on my birthday. Thank you, Nature! As if knowing about my day, animals in the zoo were especially cute. I'll make a post about that later, but here is a teaser-preview. We were the only people in the zoo, so it was all ours ^.^

  Когда я проснулась, муж повёл меня в зоопарк Коркеасаари. Весь день шёл снег, а я как раз этого и жду каждый год на день варенья. Спасибо, Природа! И словно зная про мой день, живность в зоопарке была особенно мила. Будет отдельный пост про зоопарк, а пока подразню вас чуток. Мы были единственными посетителями, так что весь зоопарк принадлежал нам ^.^
