Laskiaispullat [Daily Photo #332]

Yesterday I baked buns! I used this plant-based recipe of the traditional laskiaispullat (Laskiainen is a sledge-sliding, bun-making winter celebration).

:p
I think this raspberry cream filling is mocking me…

Ruohonjuuri and Prisma [Daily Photo #330]

Did ya know they opened a new Ruohonjuuri store near Sello in Espoo? ^^ We bought a few interesting things there yesterday: macadamia milk, veggie sausages, pea tempeh and smoked soy tempeh (both made in Finland).

Countershading [Daily Photo #325]

I knew how stripes and spots were a type of camouflage, but I didn't fully understand why so many animals had lighter tummies. Easy to get it with marine life, say, penguins. When a penguin is swimming, its lighter tummy blends in with the sky if you look from below. But why do antelopes have lighter undersides, then? Not many creatures would be looking at them from below. =D So I read this, and turns out it's called countershading and is an efficient camouflage, too (although there are other theories as to its role).

Valentine Fanarts! Unicorn Tracks, Shining Ascension, Scardust

My favourite thing about Valentine in Finland is that here it's called Ystävänpäivä, Friend's Day. It makes it more inclusive! ^u^ So here chocolates, cards and other Valentine things can be given not just to lovers (if you have any) but also to dear friends.

And, since it's fun to give gifts on such days, here are my fanarts for the lovely people who create lovely stories! \(^o^)/

Even More Vegan Food [Daily Photo #319]
