Our hedgehog Keiju is unusual. Normally Finnish hedgehogs (Erinaceus europaeus) hibernate from autumn to Vappu in May, but this one wakes up around Christmas to enjoy delicious festive food.
Before that she will be sleeping in all sort of places.
You might find her on a bookshelf, having fantasy dreams.
Or under a Xmas tree, full of holiday spirit.
And sometimes she joins other hibernating critters.
Keiju likes to sleep near food, just in case.
And food is the first thing she looks for when she wakes up.
“Sleepy now. Bye!”
