Halkidiki Olives [Daily Photo #452]

Last time I bought a jar of Tesco Halkidiki stuffed olives, I ate it all in a few hours… So this time I bought two jars! =D Both so delicious, though, hmmm…...

Veggie Soup [Daily Photo #451]

After Juhannus it's nice to eat something light for a change. =D
So I made this veggie soup today.

With dill that I grew hydroponically!

*unintelligible fangirling squee*

Ahem.

*clears throat*

Today I met the badass writer Suzanne van Rooyen in person and we had ice cream and I got autographs and we chatted about writerly stuff and—

OMG Horses [Daily Photo #447]

Look, horses!

We went to Otaniemi today, to the Startup Sauna co-working space, and while my husband worked there I spent time reading a book. It's quite an interesting place with many different areas for meetings, some of them even look like sauna! =D

Vegan Artichoke Ravioli [Daily Photo #443]

We found lots of vegan gluten-free fresh pasta in K-Citymarket in Sello. Although I don't need to eat gluten-free, I like trying new things, and I cannot resist vegan ravioli. =D It was nom nom!

Strawberry Petals [Daily Photo #440]

Strawberry petals started falling which means it's almost time for the berries! When we moved to this apartment, there were just a couple wild strawberries growing behind the wooden border of our garden. I cleared some space for them, and soon the strawberries covered everything they could reach. This year they are even bigger! It's like a mini strawberry meadow that I didn't even have to plant or do much work with.

A Sloth Bear [Daily Photo #438]

Allow me to introduce to you my new friend Mikael 'Mishka' ToffeeTassu. He is a sloth bear and he likes candy! In Russian we call bears Mikhail or Mishka (pet form) sometimes, it's a common male name. That's why he's Mishka. ^^ And Tassu means paw in Finnish.

Lippajärvi Lake [Daily Photo #437]

We went to Lippajärvi today, to enjoy sunny weather and ice cream. Sadly, the beach was littered with trash left by Saturday-night drunkards. :( But at least the lake itself was clean! Yay?

Oh My Vegan Goodness [Daily Photo #434]

Recently a lot of British products by Tesco appeared in local shops (S-group only). We have tried some of them and yisssss so good! And cheap, and many vegan options, like this delicious ice cream and garlic baguette (which is also gluten- and wheat-free but tastes just like the usual kind).

(Tesco Halkidiki olives stuffed with garlic and sundried tomatoes that we bought a few days ago did not live long enough to be featured here – I ate the whole jar in a few hours… They should make XXXXXXL sized olive jars for people like me.)

So Late, So Late [Daily Photo #432]

Well, apparently IKEA restaurant closes one hour before IKEA itself closes, as we discovered today when we came there too late and very hungry. Oh well, the food in their bistro is nice too. We had an apple pie with ice cream, an elderberry drink and a banana milkshake.

The locker keys had funny attachments. =D

Aroma Medallion from Crimea [Daily Photo #431]

Here's a cute souvenir my father and his wife brought for me from Crimea some years ago. It's a clay aroma medallion. You put a few drops of essential oil you like in it and wear it, so it's like perfume. I don't use it that way, it's more like a cute toy for me, but I do like oils, just in aroma lamps instead. ^u^

These are Ukrainian essential oils:
petitgrain (name's in Ukrainian there) and geranium (in Russian).

A Chinese Fan [Daily Photo #430]

We bought this lovely fan at the Chinese New Year celebration in Helsinki a few years ago (here are some photos). It's wooden and is scented with a very pleasant fragrance!

New Books and Pride Month [Daily Photo #428]

Happy Pride Month everyone! I begin it nicely prepared. I have a huge list of books and short stories that have LGBTQIA characters so I have a lot to choose from, and I already started reading two novels for this Pride. But first…

~~~Dun dun dun~~~
New books arrived! Look at the precious:
The Seafarer's Kiss by Julia Ember
Love Beyond Body, Space, and Time: An Indigenous LGBT Sci-Fi Anthology
Their arrival was like a balm for my broken heart (Netflix cancelled Sense8 and I just… It feels like I've lost a family, not just another cool show. Sniiiiiiiff). It definitely cheered me up! So please, writers, keep writing books with LGBTQIA characters, we need you! ^u^
