Saving Us

A sad video this time, it always makes me cry...
На этот раз грустное видео, всегда вызывает слёзы...

I like what someone wrote in comments to this video:
“So many people needing love, and when you watch things like this you wish you could do something about it and help every single person who is suffering.”
(JosapahRay)

Понравился один из комментариев к видео:
«Столь многим людям нужна любовь, и, когда ты смотришь подобные видео, ты хочешь, чтобы было что-то, что ты мог бы сделать, чтобы помочь каждому человеку в беде.»
(JosapahRay)

  1. This is so heartbreaking, Ekaterina. The number of the homeless would increase more and more as the economy is sinking worldwide. Japanese homeless almost never commit a crime but people want to stay away from them. Some professionals try to help their independence but most of them don’t think constructively and just give foods and temporal shelters. A small portion of our tax money is spent on them. People are kind and sympathetic in general and would think like JosapahRay, but maybe kindness and sympathy often get lost in a daily rush. How about in Finland?

  2. I found some stats on the homeless people here. In 2009 there were 8150 single homeless and 320 homeless families in Finland, about 0,6% of the whole population. I rarely see them in our suburbia though, seems they are mostly in Helsinki.

There are places where they can sleep, and some food is available. Main problems they have are alcohol and really cold winters. :( But it seems that most of them don't stay homeless too long so there is hope.

  3. Hi,Ekaterina.
I think the solution of this problem is very difficult. If they have hopes they have to find jobs.I heard when they get a job, they need a resident registration. But they don't have houses. It's a minus spiral?

  4. Hi Sarah!

Yeah, sounds pretty sad.. I can't imagine what it's like to live on the street with no food or warmth of a house.
